Kimberly Walpert, M.D. earned her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed a neurosurgical residency at The University of Tennessee and Semmes-Murphey Clinic in Memphis. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the GRU/UGA Medical Partnership.
Certified as a Medical Unit Secretary, Wes Anderson proudly claims over ten years of experience in the healthcare field. Wes's compassion and friendliness makes him an ideal receptionist at Athens Brain and Spine, where he enjoys meeting new people each day and ensuring their medical visits go as smoothly as possible. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Wes enjoys playing darts with friends and attending concerts whenever he can.
Deborah has 18 years in the medical field. She is a certified medical assistant. She has also worked in Family Practice, Pediatrics, and now in Neurosurgery as a referral coordinator. She was born and raised in Winder, Ga. She enjoys watching basketball, comedy movies, and spending time with family.
Lakeetta, known to many as "Joy", brings to Piedmont Neurosurgery her Joyful smile and willingness to help others. Lakeetta has 3 wonderful daughters and a lovely granddaughter that keeps her very active. She has worked in the healthcare field for 17 years, 15 of them at Piedmont Athens. Reared in Athens, she presently lives in Barrow County and is a definitely a people person. She enjoys dancing, singing, traveling, and crossword puzzles.
Lakeshia works in Neurosurgery with Dr. Walpert and Dr.Patil office. She is a mother of 4 wonderful kids. In her free time she loves to go antique shopping on weekends and spending time with her family. Lakeshia's been in the medical field for over 13 years and enjoys the career she's chosen.
Kendall received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Auburn University. After graduation from Auburn University, she moved to Durham, North Carolina to work on the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Duke University Hospital. In order to refine her skills, she spent the last couple years on Emory University Hospital’s Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Recently, Kendall and her Fiancé relocated to Athens, Georgia in order to start their life together. Outside of work you can find Kendall spending time with her family and friends and relaxing at the lake.
Victoria has worked in the healthcare field for 10 years. She enjoys working with the patients and their families. She loves helping other people and being part of a team that works together and changes lives. Victoria is from Barrow County and lives there with her partner and daughter.
Melinda received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from UNC - Charlotte. She has worked in a variety of fields from internal medicine to women's health and most notably brings over 20 years experience in neurosurgical nursing. Originally from North Carolina, Melinda has come to love North Georgia. When not using her neurosurgical nursing skills, you can find her golfing, running, cooking, traveling or watching UGA football.
Stephanie earned her B.S. in Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia. She worked as a registered nurse in the neurosurgical field before furthering her education at Georgia Regents University. She graduated with a Master of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2015. She holds professional membership to the AANP.
Stephanie Smith is from Barrow County. She is married and has two children that keep her very active. Stephanie and her family are members of the First Baptist Church in Winder, GA. She has worked in Athens in the medical field for 15 years and loves working with people! Helping patients and their families is her passion. Stephanie is the Practice Manager for Athens Regional Specialty Services as well as Office Manager for Athens Brain and Spine.
Jessica Boston is a board-certified Physician Assistant who completed her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies with an emphasis in Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012. She has six years of medical experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Georgia and worked as a personal trainer prior to pursing her career in medicine. She joined Athens Brain and Spine in June 2019 primarily rounding in the hospital and first assisting in surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys spending family time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. Hobbies include gardening, fitness, and cooking, and dancing.
